Fall is officially here and while that often means colder weather, it also means tons of fun activities that the whole family can enjoy together. With holidays such as Halloween and Thanksgiving, the changing of the leaves, and so much more, there’s an abundance of things to do in the fall that you and the kids can’t enjoy at other times of the year. Here are a few fun fall time activities for the whole family.

Go Camping

During the fall, take advantage of the lower temperatures and plan an amazing camping trip with the whole family. Not only will you get to be out in nature while the leaves are changing colors, but you’ll also likely save money since most campgrounds slow down at this time of year.

Tell Scary Stories

With Halloween around the corner, there’s no better time to get spooky than now. Gather up your little ones in the living room or the backyard, set the mood with dim lighting and maybe some Halloween decorations, and start sharing scary stories. You may want to be wary of how scary your stories are if you have younger children, but this can still be a great way to get everyone in the fall mood and have some fun.

Carve Pumpkins

Another Halloween-centric activity but an all-time classic is carving pumpkins. What’s great about carving pumpkins is that you actually can get two activities out of it. You can bring your family pumpkin picking so everyone can choose their own pumpkins, and then bring them home and get to carving! This activity lets everyone get a little creative since they can personalize their own pumpkin, whether it’s scary, silly, or anything in between!

Go To A Football Game

The fall season is also another popular season – football season. Whether you’re a football fan or not, going to a football game can be loads of fun for the entire family. Go check out an NFL game if you can, and if you’re not interested in traveling far, check out your local high school or college’s games. This might even spark an interest in the sport in your kids.

Rake Leaves

One of the worst parts of the fall for adults is having to clean up all of the leaves that fall around your yard. If you want to make this task a little easier, get your kids involved. Kids love playing in the leaves, so have them rake them up and jump in them a little bit before bagging them up for the trash. It’ll be fun and save you a little bit of time.
